Summer internships
You are seeking inspiration, challenges, excitement, and deeper knowledge of the banking industry. You also want to demonstrate your strengths and skills to us as a prospective employer.
Our summer internships, which last between 10 and 12 weeks, provide the opportunity both to learn and to show us what you can do. Combining training (both classroom based and on the job), networking and hands-on experience, these internships can facilitate your entry into the industry if you decide this is where you wish to be.
We recruit in all of our regions for our summer internships almost a full year in advance of the internship start date.
Summer internships are offered in the following businesses and activities: Investment Banking, Global Finance, Global Markets and some Resource Functions.
Selection criteria
Apart from some key competencies we value the minimum requirements you must meet to be considered for a summer internship are:
• Fluent in English and a second language. A third language will be considered an extra benefit. For some opportunities there may be a specific language requirement. This will be clearly outlined in the vacancy when you apply.
• Be in your penultimate year of study from university, business or engineering school with an excellent academic record.
• Be on track for a good degree grade (2:1 in the UK, 3.2GPA in the USA, average grade 14/20 in France or global equivalent) from a top class university.
• Possess excellent high school grades (300 UCAS points, 3.5GPA in the USA High School Graduation Diploma or average 14/20 at French Baccalaureat or global equivalent).
How to apply
At first
Your initial application lets us gather information about you, your interests and your academic record. Please press “APPLY” to go to our online application form and use the link on the left to search for opportunities. Once you have selected the activity and you wish to be consider for, click the apply link and complete the online application. You will be notified by e-mail once your application has been successfully submitted.
Opening date: September 6th, 2010
Closing date for Europe and Asia regions*: December 13th, 2010
Following initial screening, if your application has been successful you will be invited to undertake the following activities:
Online test
Successful candidates will be invited to take an online numerical test.
Phone Interview
Candidates who pass the tests will be invited to a telephone interview. This will give us an opportunity to find out more about your experience, motivation and relevant skills.
Face-to-face interview
Candidates selected after the telephone interview will be invited to a face-to-face interview with the hiring team at the beginning of 2011.
Finally
Shortly after the face-to-face interview, successful candidates will be offered a summer internship, starting in Summer 2011.
